QASIM AWAIS has received the B.Sc. degree in electronics engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology at Taxila, Pakistan, and the M.Sc. degree in computer networking from the University of Bedfordshire, U.K., in 2009 and 2011, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering (instrumentation science and technology) with Chongqing University, China. He is currently serving as Associate Professor in Electrical Engineering Department, GIFT University, Pakistan. Previously, he has served at University of Central Punjab Lahore (UCP) in Electrical Engineering Department. He received the HEC Scholarship (PAK) and the Chinese Government Scholarship for his Ph.D. research. He has received best paper award in number of national and international conferences.
He has taught number of courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students including Power Electronics, Analog and Digital Communications, Computer Communication Networks, Antenna Systems, Biomedical Instrumentation and Renewable Energy Systems.
His research interests include wide band/multiband antenna design, renewable energy systems, RF energy harvesting, RF filter design, and multisource energy scavenging/integration. He Has Expertise In WLAN, 5G Antenna Design, Multiplier Circuits, Impedance Matching Networks. Apart from teaching Dr. Qasim Awais has been managing Electrical Engineering Department activities, Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) OBE documentations/visits and National Technology Council (NTC) accreditation visits. In addition to this he has published research articles in reputable journals and conferences including level 1/SCI level manuscripts.
